Iowa Hoops returns December 31

Iowa Mens Basketball ended their non-conference at 11-2 and ranked in the top 25. They could've been 13-0 and 9-4 realistically... so 11-2 is fine. Time to start the B1G schedule against Nebraska, Dec. 31.

I had them going 12-1 in this section so 11-2 is not bad as I overestimate my hopes usually.

***Streaky shooting-- They need to make a few more from 3. Hopefully Oglesby will help, as he showed his promise against APB, but remember, he was AWFUL last year.

***Blown leads-- The press can get you back and it can get other teams back. ISU and Villanova rode hot streaks to get back and eventually overtake the Hawks

***Early foul trouble-- This is usually focvused on Woody, but the whole team needs to tighten up. What good is depth if everyone is in foul trouble?

***Untimely foul shooting-- 'Nuff said.

***Peter Jok was shooting too much

***Whenever the Hawks have started a season 7-0, they have made the big dance.  That will continue this year.

***Zach McCabe has been solid with the exception of the ISU game.

***Roy D. Marble has been real good and we haven't seen his best, yet.  We do get to see a lot of his Dad, though.

***Great comeback against Xavier and able to put away Notre Dame.

***Jarrod Uthoff looks real good.

***Fran hasn't blown a gasket yet

I predict a 13-5 B1G  for Iowa with 1-1 in the B1G tourney. That will put them at 25-8 going into the Tourney.  that should still be a 4-5 seed. I still say elite 8 time.

Elite 8 is nowhere near out of the question. They have just as good of a shot as anyone. Fran has to let the hot hand ride at times though. Don't just use the depth cause it is there as it can take guys out of rythym.
